Slate floor cleaning can be a tough job, but once it’s been done it looks so beautiful.

First, Art of Clean will inspect the floor for any stains, loose grout or any other areas that need more attention before we start the cleaning.

We will protect your walls and furniture by covering them in a plastic sheet, this is to stop overspray. Please note that Art of Clean can’t guarantee all areas especially sensitive areas have some exposure to cleaning solutions.

Art of Clean will then remove any dirt before any water-based cleaning takes place, then Art of Clean will apply the solution using a sprayer or from the container using a pre-mixed solution. Stirring is done by means of a rotary cleaning machine or by hand depending on the areas to be cleaned.

Rinse the dirt from the floor using our pressurised cleaning equipment, sometimes this is repeated if needed for best results.

After the cleaning process has taken place we will clean up and dry any damp areas. In cases where stone or tile has a high porosity, drying can take up to 12 hours.

We will then use a sealer to enhance the natural colours in the slate floor.  Application of a top quality impregnator to the floor is crucial as it greatly reduce the porosity of the tile. The impregnator penetrates below the surface of the tile and grout and act as a repellent for any liquid based spills. This allows the tile to breath.
